Clan Filwarf

Clan Filwarf
Among the Dwarves that migrated from the Kingdom of Rockhome, those who settled on the Isle of Dawn, starting from the II century AC, were the ones to depart most from the traditional dwarven ways. Filwarf use shorter beards. They can be found on Ierendi, Kingdom of Rockhome and the Isle of Dawn.

Filwarf dwarves do not place the same emphasis on clan and family ties as do Denwarf dwarves. It is thought this de-emphasis on filial relations is due to the general lapse in traditional dwarven culture among the filwarf dwarves, particularly the lack of religious ritual and and worship of Kagyar. Whatever the reason, there are no clans among the filwarf dwarves. Instead, the filwarf dwarves have organized a series of Houses- essentially large craft guilds- through which they interact with their own kind and the other races of the Isle of Dawn. These Houses are made up of any number of different dwarven families- indeed, it is not at all unusual for a given filwarf family to have members belonging to different houses. Filwarf children are usually apprenticed to a craft in adolescence, and their allegiances tend to belong to the House to which they belong before their own family. Rarely, members of other races are found in service to one of the Houses; gnomes, in particular, seem to be well accepted among Houses Barrklist and Makrak.
